Hi,

What is your favorite online Spanish/English dictionary? I have been using http://www.freedict.com but find it quite incomplete. Others I have seen are far inferior to paper versions. Thanks for your suggestions!

Saludos de La Paz.

David

You may try this one, David. Collins Eng-Esl-Eng, Eng monolingual and RAE Spanish monolingual all in one. The best online single-click rumble-in-the-jungle survival kit, mereckons anyway. Free, but I wish it were for sale, I'd pay anything.
Saludos
Paul
ps: actually, if you've a PC you can install it for free too. Macs will have to wait, ouch again.

Here you can purchase a subscription to the unabridged bilingual version. Of course, it also includes the college dictionary, thesaurus, manual of style, and several other useful features.

www.diccionarios.com Jun 28, 2004

I agree with Paul, RAE is great, as is WordReference.

You may also like to try www.diccionarios.com but they ask for money after a few times using it. I think though you can get a few clicks in per day, so if you only need a few words to reference, then it's OK.

http://www.elmundo.es/diccionarios/ Jun 28, 2004

I'd like to suggest

http://www.elmundo.es/diccionarios/

Looks like it has a monoligual and Eng/Span Span/Fren options, as well as sinonimos and antonimos.

Does anyone have experience with this dictionary?

wordreference.com + kudoz search Jun 28, 2004

I am also an inveterate user of wordreference.com, but for queries regarding usage I find the Kudoz search function to be invaluable ("Kudoz search" under "Kudoz").

Cheers,

True, diccionarios.com is payable, but it's only 21 euros per year, and it's a pretty good general resource. By the way, there's some good technical glossaries available for consulting at www.acta.es

Thanks Keshet, great suggestion, the sinónimos and antónimos resources are terrific I reckon. Badly needed currently too!
Cheers
