hello,

I have received a lot of .rtf files exported from quarkxpress, so they are .rtf tagged files. I need to count characters/words of these .rtf tagged files. How could I do it, obviously without considering tags?

You simply need to perform a wordcount in a translation memory tool like for instance Trados Workbench.

-Press Tools

-Press Analyse

-Add your file

-Press Analyse

When your file is analysed, press View Log File in order to see the information about your Wordcount.

Similar functions are also present in other translation memory tools.
