Translating IUPAC chemical names?

Hi
I'm translating names of chemicals from Italian to English. Is there an official glossary (on the web) which gives the official English IUPAC names of all named compounds?

Here (http://www.proz.com/topic/32247) is a similar thread with a couple helpful suggestions.

For Fr>En, the answer seems to be that there are useful resources but no standard list.

If you can use the compound name in the source language to find the CAS number (Chemical Abstract Service), then you can look up the CAS number to find the official name in the targe... See more

If you can use the compound name in the source language to find the CAS number (Chemical Abstract Service), then you can look up the CAS number to find the official name in the target language. To be confident of doing this consistently, you might need to pay to subscribe to a professional organic chemistry web site. The resources identified in the other thread work well a lot of the time and are free.
