I'm in urgent need of your suggestions as regards reliable English-to-Spanish resources to ratify some terms on anesthesia online. I have no time to buy one dictionary now, since deadline is round the corner.
Please feel free to suggest online glossaries too. Will be much appreciated.
Regards,
McN

It offers the possibility of choosing the specific field you need the term to be translated. ¡Suerte!

Paula,
Lo has utilizado últimamente?

DeCS and other (possibly) useful links Apr 7, 2006

A lovely trilingual (ES-EN-PT) site. I haven't used it that much, but the information seems very comprehensive and reliable. Type the source word in the search window (ex: anesthesia) and make sure you click the appropriate source language.

--- http://www.infodoctor.org/dolor/ (ES version) and http://www.jr2.ox.ac.uk/Bandolier/booth/painpag/index.html (EN version)

--- NHS Direct (UK) Health Encyclopaedia: "Anaesthesia" (http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/articles/article.aspx?articleId=20) and its ES equivalent in PDF format: http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/languages/Download.aspx?id=9628

The following links are not glossaries, but rather sites containing useful references and/or parallel texts. More work in terms of the research you'll have to do, but every little bit helps!

--- Scielo.org (http://www.scielo.org/index.php?lang=en) is another trilingual site of medical journals published throughout the Americas and Spain. Their search engine is fairly decent. Several anesthesiology journals are included. Sometimes you can find an abstract with a translation into another language, though be advised that they are not always well translated!

--- http://www.medtrad.org/ciberguia/enlaces.html#n4

--- WWW Virtual Library of Anesthesiology: http://www.gasnet.org/vl/vl.php

--- National Library of Medicine (MedlinePlus)
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/anesthesia.html
Fewer ES links are available at http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/spanish/anesthesia.html

--- http://www.ccah-alliance.org/pdf/Eng_Sp_MCGoT.pdf (ES-LAm > EN-US, very generalized terminology for patients, probably not as useful)

Dear Rebekah,
You've taken quite a lot of your time to help me! And I appreciate it very much. In fact most of the resources available need contrastive study, but if one knows a little bit about the subject, it is just a question of identifying what one needs to ratify. Unfortunately, I am running out of time, but "pressure" is sometimes also helpful to learn "all of a sudden"
Thank you very very much!
McN
