Hi there, I am looking for help regarding a quote that I need from a book (English translation of a book by Paul Virilio). Specifically, I am looking for someone with the book who might be able to help me to locate the quote I need. I have it in French. Where should I post my quote - in a Forum (and if so, which one), in the English Kudoz section or other. Thanks.

Amazon proposes a "search inside" option for many books. This option is (at least to some extent) reserved for customers -- i.e., you have to have an account at amazon.com to make use of it. The search inside option works for th following books of P. Virilio: The Information Bomb (Radical Thinkers), by Paul Virilio, War and Cinema: The Logistics of Perception, by Paul Virilio and P. Hi Attila, Yes, I've tried that because I have found things there before but this particular book isn't there (Negative Horizon). What I really wanted to know in this particular forum is WHERE I should post my actual query. Thanks for your help, Anne

A suggestion | Jul 12, 2006 |
I looked online for books at my public library and could find neither the title nor the author. Even if someone does not have the book, however, you might find someone on this list who can find the book in their public library. In the interest of time, you might post the quote you're looking for, along with the chapter and approximate page. Good luck. These needles in haystacks CAN be found.

Thanks everyone. I tried the monolingual English forum but was kindly advised that that was not the place to look for quotes. Thank you. As it has been officially translated, I need the "official" translation but your "rough attempt" is much appreciated as it will help anyone without a knowledge of French to find the actual text if they have the book. Thanks again.

This would lead you to find the "official" translation if it were somewhere in the net. The best, linaza

Thanks for that. This all helps but I can't be sure that the first part has not been translated by the translator of the PDF, as the original text was French.
