I\'ve spent a lot of time hunting for a German to English online glossary of computer terms (dealing with computer use, software, computer games - not so much the building/repair aspect) but haven\'t found much that\'s very helpful. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for your ideas.

The most complete collection of glossaries in this language combination I am aware of can be found at the site of our colleague Frank Dietz : http://www.jump.net/~fdietz/glossary.htm

Also, check the language-specific glossary collection at www.lai.com/thc.html

There, you will also find the links that let you download the Microsoft standard glossaries, in case you do not have those.

Why online? Oct 10, 2002

Why does your glossary have to be online? There are many reliable glossaries on certain UIs and/or specific versions of computer programs available. You can use them for instance with Adobe Acrobat\'s Search function. These are more reliable than online glossies \'cos they are more specific. Example: If you were looking for a good translation of the term \"thumbnail\", you\'d probably find \"Miniaturansicht\", \"Piktogramm\" or even \"Thumbnail\" in a English/German online glossary, yet, in certain versions of Adobe\'s products, this term got translated differently, but at least consistent t/o one version.
