Does anybody know of a bilingual (Eng-Spa) glossary on racing? I don\'t need down-to-detail or technical stuff, just something basic, a starter for an interpretation assignment.

Thanks in advance!

not a specialist, but might be of assistance Nov 13, 2002

a page with links for various Spanish resources:

http://www.spanishtranslator.org/glosidx/gl03spdi/gl03spdi.html

CBS sports: racing , unfortunately only in English (but who knows). I foudn it fairly comprehensive

http://cbs.sportsline.com/u/racing/auto/glossary/

racing and Karting, again English monolingual:

horseriding/ racing

http://www.andalucia.com/glossaries/horseriding.htm

I am really trying, assuming that something is better than nothing. Please feel free to curse me

slot car....again english monolingual http://www.scaleautoracing.com/slotfaqs/glossary.html?

unrelated, but a great web-site: http://bovis.gyuvet.ch/2res/d07slang.htm

Sorry I coudn\'t provide you with an English-Spanish racing glossary/ dictionary, but... it doesn\'t seem to exist (I didn\'t find it in 18 google pages). Maybe the links above will help you understand what people are talking about when they are discussing cars. And there\'s always: www.womanmotorist.com

Good luck with your interpretation. And have fun with the \'unrelated\' link

Stefania

espero que esto te sirva Nov 13, 2002

yo conozco muchos sitios de automovilismo, pero no es fácil hallar glosarios, aquí hay algo de lo que conozco:

http://www.fernandezfansforum.com.mx/editoriales/glosario/

(es en Español, pero mucha de la terminología de las carreras son anglicismos)

http://old.sportsline.com/u/racing/auto/glossary/f_glossary.htm

(este está en Inglés, pero también te resultará útil)

http://www.autonology.com/race_glossary.html

(otro en Inglés)

Creo que estos te van a servir

Saludos!

Thanks to both... Nov 15, 2002

Stefania and Alfredo, thanks for your help. All the sites have been quite helpful (and fun!). For those interested, I also found another English-only glossary at

http://www.cart.com

Thanks also for wishing me good luck in my assignment, of course the bonus is being able to be at the track for free
