HIP HOP AND RAP GLOSSARIES Apr 25, 2007

Hi Louise,

Maybe these glossaries will be of use...

(including a glossary of graffiti terms because it is inevitably connected - IMO)

Urban Dictionary Apr 25, 2007

Urban Dictionary is very useful for any kind of street slang, although it's not focused on just hip hop.

last time i checked urban dictionary anyone could enter in a definition for anything and there were some definitions that were pretty off. like with any type of slang hiphop talk can change pretty quickly and something that was said yesterday can be forgotton about tomorrow or can take on a completely new meaning. i would be pretty wary of any glossary that has hiphop slang and take it with a grain of salt. your best bet is to find someone who is into hiphop culture and use them as a consultant.

Urban Dictionary is helpful, though. Apr 26, 2007

I find that Urban Dictionary is helpful too, and yes, slang/pun/sayings etc. do change overnight:)

That's how languages work:)
