English prepositions Dec 23, 2002

Hi Alexandru, here\'s some information that might help you.

\"When English teachers are surveyed regarding their teaching problems, prepositions emerge as a serious problem and are mentioned almost as frequently as articles; i.e. the teachers - as a group - feel that prepositions are the second most difficult aspect of the English language for their students.\" The Grammar Book, Marianne Celce-Murcia and Diane Larsen-Freeman.

phrasal verbs Dec 23, 2002

Do you mean phrasal verbs? (examples: take into, look after, etc.)

Manor British publishers all have their phrasal verbs dictionaries. Oxford definitely has one.

The BBI Dictionary Dec 25, 2002

A wonderful source of answers is The BBI Combinatory Dictionary of English by Morton and Evelyn Benson and Robert Ilson, published by John Benjamins Publishing Company Amsterdam-Philadelphia [1986]. Good luck!
