Dear all!
I was once browsing the web and found that a translation agency had created a tool that converted Trados logs into Excel files, which I found very useful. I think this was freeware.
I didn\'t bookmarked it then , but maybe some of you know it.
Could you please tell me?
Thanks a lot!
Maria José

Import in Excel the .csv file
Feb 11, 2003
There is no need of special tools. You can import the results of a Trados analysis directly into Excel.
The analysis produces two files: a .log file and a .csv file.
The .csv file can be imported into Excel, but make sure you specify the correct separator between fields (semicolon).
You will obtain a neat table containing all the words and fuzzy matches for each file of your Trados project.

Maybe this is basic knowledge but I don\'t know how to do it. Could you please tell me where shall I specify the correct separator between fields (semicolon)? I\'ve tried to open the .csv file directly from Excell and the format is not correct.
Thanks again!
Maria José

Procedure to import .csv Trados analysis files in Excel
Feb 12, 2003
(I\'m referring to the English version of Excel 2000)
1. Go to the menu Data.
2. Select the option \"Get External Data\".
3. Select the option \"Import text file\" (the csv file is a text file).
4. Select the file in the opened Import text file dialog (select files *.* and not .txt).
5. Click Import. It is a wizard with 3 steps.
6. Step 1: Select Delimited (and not Fixed width), then select Next.
