I am trying to use freebudget to perform word counts for documents that I am working on. As they are from the internet, they are full of html tags which are being included in the word count at present. Does anyone know how to set freebudget up so that it doesn't count html tags such as
. Is there a way of excluding everything that appears between this type of brackets ?
Thanks
Jon

I find it strange that word counting software that specifically supports HTML doesn't exclude the tags from that word count. Are you sure FreeBudget supports HTML?

Another way to count words in HTML files, is to tag the file using Plustools (from the Wordfast web site) in MS Word, and then do an "Analyse" on the file using Wordfast (you may have to create a blank TM first).

The word counting feature in Plustools itself does not ignore HTML tags, but the Analyse feature in Wordfast does, if the file has been tagged in Plustools first.
