The end... Jul 14, 2011

Sorry, you chose to quote me so I feel compelled to make the record straight.

I completely and absolutely cease to quote you... I see a risk that you take my quoting you as an attack or attempt to offend, when my idea is to help you understand my point, which I have expressed in several ways, apparently with no success.

Good luck!

Sigh Jul 14, 2011

Bottom line, bilingual education does not a translator make. The end.

No, not again Jul 17, 2011

Geez! I said formal education not bilingual education. I'm talking about learning grammar and syntax and verb tenses and parts of speech, and semantics and punctuation and vocabulary and essay writing and .... Is that not what one is supposed to learn and command to become a translator? If not what is? ( btw these are rhetorical questions) I'm left in the dark just as ATA left me.

Something I have observed... Jul 18, 2011

Something I have observed in good translators (or people I would categorize as good translators) is that they always feel they have a lot to learn. A translator is also a curious person by nature, and someone willing to listen to what other people have to say.
