Hi ppl)

I think many of you not gonna fall into a rut and use some gadgets to make their life easier. So, how about your favorite *little* apps? As for me, I would like to name a few *free* ones:

1. AmlMaple (cursor language indicator)
2. BadCopy (to read old/corrupted data)
3. CCleaner (registry/ junk files cleaner)
4. CD Slow (CD/DVD speed limit)
5. Desk Note (when at the office))
6. ID Serve (sites info lookup)
7. ProcessLasso (CPU load control)
8. PTFB: PressThatFreakin'Button (automatic button clicker)
9. PuntoSwitcher (keyboard layout changer, sometimes rather harmful)
10. Resource Hacker (used mainly as EXE localizer)
11. Riva Tuner (videocard tunning)
12. SandBoxIE* (isolated virtual environment; 30-day nagware)
13. Security & Privacy Complete (system security tunning)
14. The Bee (portable 450KB ICQ-email-NEWs agent)
15. UnLocker ('locked' file remover)
16. WWDC: Windows Worms Doors Cleaner (dangerous ports locker)
17. WinRoll (a'la MacOS windows minimizer)
18. ZSoft Uninstaller (left-over garbage cleaner)
. . . well, that will do for now.

Unfortunately, nobody can know everything. So, don't be too shy and name a couple of your favorite gadgets for M$.

Thank you)

My 2 cents Dec 26, 2009

DZiW, I would recommend DM2 (http://dm2.sourceforge.net ) over WinRoll.

My favorite ones:
* TypeAndRun (http://galanc.com ) — best console for Windows
* Rainlendar (http://rainlendar.net ) — PIM
* VoluMouse (http://www.nirsoft.net ) — a quick way to adjust sound volume
* Recuva (http://www.piriform.com/recuva ) — one of the best tools for recovering deleted files, from the makers of CCleaner
* Everything (http://www.voidtools.com ) — the name says it all

Error in this URL Dec 27, 2009

If you just click on this link, the resulting URL is invalid because it will have a surplus ")" at the end (maybe including that ")" after the "/" is a fault in the ProZ web-page code). The link is really: http://www.voidtools.com/ . (I hope I got it right!)

(BTW, its purpose is to find things.)

Oliver

Oliver, thanks for noting. I've corrected the URLs.
