Dear all,

I hope ypu can help me. I have switched from Windows to Mac. I am a very happy switcher, however I am still struggling and trying to figure out how to use my Wordfast Memories that I created in Windows on my new sleek iMac. (I am using Wordfast 5.50y on my Mac)

When I working on a translation in Word for Mac, Wordfast doesn´t recognize the segments that already exist in the TM. I have opened the TM and realized that apparently there are some changes in the fonts, like this:

TU Created on 24 Sep 06 at 13:27:27 by CP

Does somebody knows what has happened?

Wordfast Memories from Windows to Mac Apr 11, 2008

hello, the most important is to open the TM-s in Word for Mac, and to re-save them. Of course, Ms Word or Ms Office for Mac should be 2004, since "2007" is not suitable any more for external add-ons written in VB.

In case you do possess previous versions of Word or Office, then you should re-save the TM-s in Word and they should obtain, or you should point to obtain Unicode 16BE. In fact, this is the variant for Mac. In Windows, you had Unicode, or Unicode 16LE. However, these are not real differences in Unicode that Wordfast could not deal normally with, i.e. you can call this process, a taming of files originated from another OS.

The same applies for taming of glossaries.

Be very patient and let Ms Word elaborate each TM thoroughly. Don't try to use the re-write as Unicode function in Wordfast at all.

Do not use TextEdit in Mac for these operations.

Be patient with Wf in Mac, as well.
