Good morning :
I translated a file with Wordfast Pro 2.4 and I am using the latest version of MS Word. When I select Previw in Word, nothing happens.
Could you please give me some advice to recover the translated file?
Thanks,
Pierre

Windows

I use WF on my PC (Windows XP) and my laptop (Vista). On the laptop, Preview in MS Word doesn't work at all. On my PC, sometimes it doesn't work. In those cases, I save the document, close WF, open it again and then it works.
The same thing happens with the Analyze feature: most times it will say: "Save the file in XML format and try again". Needless to say, the file IS saved in XML format. Anyway, I close it, open it again and then it works.
Not too practical, but I need to get the work done!
Good luck,
María José

Wordfast Pro - Preview in Word does not work - does your file have footnotes?
Jun 3, 2010
I just tried a Word preview on a file with footnotes and it wouldn't work, whereas files without footnotes do. I don't have time to test this by taking out the footnotes but it might be worth investigating.

Hi Pierre,
In any case, if you wish to obtain the translated file (MS Word doc) you should use the File>Save translated file menu.
Regarding the preview, below is the reply I got to this very question from Yasmin from Wordfast. You should be able to open the HTML file from its folder.
For any strange reason I rarely succeed in obtaining this preview from the WFP app (icon or shortcut Alt-w) when I work on my Mac (Mac OS X6 Snow Leopard, MS Office 2008), but I do access it with no problem when I work on my brand new PC (Windows 7, MS Office 2007)...
Regards
Aude

I have the same problem previewing in Word
Jan 5
Hello!
I have the newest version of Wordfast Pro 2.4.4 and I can't seem to preview my work in Word, whereas before I updated the sotware I could.
I tried to 'save translated file', but I don't seem to have the option to do that either.
I am using a Mac OSX Version 10.5.8, I am not sure whether that has anything to do with it? As I said, using the same machine, I managed to preview in Word before with the older version of Wordfast Pro.
Thank you in advance if you have any suggestions.
Delphine
