Hi all,
Since upgrading to the latest WF version I have noticed that the search and replace function does not work properly. WF replaces part of terms, but "leaves unnoticed" another part (the "case sensitive" option is checked or unchecked, if appropriate, but the result is the same: some instances of the term are always omitted). The function worked perfectly before the latest upgrade.
My question is: is this only my problem or have others have also noted this?

Hi Natalia,
Can you provide an example?
Thanks!

Hi John,
For example, I have a file with 600 segments where I want to replace "субъект" with "пациент" (in the translation, of course). I go to Edit > Find and replace > replace all, and see that, for example, 28 instances have been replaced. But quite soon I notice that there are more instances of "субъект" not replaced during the search. I do search/replace again, and get a few more instances replaced, etc. This way I cannot be sure that all instances have been replaced.
I repeat: this issue is not related to the "case sensitive/ insensitive" search.

Thanks Natalia,
Could it be that the terms not being replaced are next to tags or other punctuation marks? This could be the problem... I think something similar happened to me the other day. Did you notice anything in particular about the instances that are not being replaced?
Are you using a Mac or PC?
Best,

And I just need to replace a single term (in my example, to replace the word "субъект" with the word "пациент"), so neither tags nor formatting have nothing to do with this.

Dear Natalie,
If you think that sending the file can help me see the problem, please feel free to do and give more as many examples as possible.
Kind regards,

It really does not appear to be related with any specific file as I have been observing this since some time already, and the files were quite different. My best guess is that either this must be some find of bug (therefore I am asking if somebody else has been experiencing the same lately) or something is wrong with the settings, but what and where?
And by the way, if I am searching for something and the searched term is absent in the text, I am unable to quit the search window: I need to click 'cancel' several times or click 'X' to close the search window 'by force'.

What I meant was you might have this in your source segment:
субъект
or
субъект
etc.
Are these the terms not being found?

Hi John,
this happens even if I am searching for plain text, part of word only (without endings), the source document has no formatting at all, this is just a list of strings. The font and all other attributes are the same everywhere.

It searches immediately without waiting for me to finish typing in the cells. Especially if I type a word that is not in the the text, and also after I have replaced all occurrences of a word (then it is no longer in the text), I get the error message "do you want to start from the beginning" that keeps popping up, even if I am already at the beginning. It pops back up when I click cancel...

Dear Thomas,
Please uncheck the option "Incremental" to avoid that.
I am reporting this.
