I translate in both directions, so it would be useful to have a switchable glossary. Just wondering if that was at all possible in Wordfast without resorting to the creation of new glossary in Excel.

Thanks in advance

in vers. 4.xx ... Apr 14, 2006

it's possible under:
TM - service - reverse

I don't know the vers. 5 and don't if it's different there

I'm sorry, but what I said is for the TM and not for the gloss

Reversing TM's Apr 14, 2006

Good day!

Regarding your question, reversing of TM's is definitely possible for Wordfast 4.22. For reversing TM's often, wordfast.dot of v.4.22 may be placed in the same ...Word\Startup folder. To have just one .dot-file in a time, it needs to rename of existing wordfast.dot to wordfast.***.

With respect,

Reversing the glossary with Wordfast 5.0 Apr 14, 2006

Thank you both for prompt replies. I use the full version of Wordfast v. 5.0, and there is no "services" under the TM tab in Wordfast, so I am still a bit at loss.

Or maybe just a newbie

Use Wordfast's TM/Glossary Editor Apr 14, 2006

Wordfast 5 (I recommend the latest version - updating is free) offers more refined service and maintenance features than version 4, all to be found in the TM/Glossary Editor.

To reverse the source and target in a glossary or a TM (or sort, de-redundize, edit etc.), start the Editor by pressing Alt+M in Word, with Wordfast active (its toolbal expanded). There’s an icon to do this, too. Go to Tools and choose “Reverse source and target” under Special Filters. I recommend consulting the user manual - there’s a section about the TM/Glossary Editor.
