Is it possible to have them both installed into Word and switch between them? What to do if I want to use both?
I am running Word 2003, Trados 6.5 Freelance and Wordfast version 4.
I´ve tried to create a folder for each .dot in Application Data\Microsoft\Word\Autostart, but that doesn´t work. Only Trados is working.

Try setting up separate users on your PC Aug 16, 2007

One with Word + WF installed, the other for Word + Trados.
You can't have both installed simultaneously - macros clash.

You can have both installed, yes. But Trados has a way of hijacking Wordfast's shortcuts. For this reason, when Wordfast starts, it will disable Trados. And if the Wordfast toolbar is not open, Trados will be one lurking.

On my one computer I had this situation. When I press Alt+down to activate Wordfast, Trados would complain that some module of it aint running. So on that computer I needed to open the Wordfast toolbar by clicking it first.

Use both at the same time? It is probably possible -- remember to tell Wordfast not to disable Trados (it's the KeepTemplate command in Pandora's Box), and then remap their shortcuts so that they don't overlap (and every time you delete normal.dot, you have to redo the shortcuts, unless you can write a macro that does the remapping).

Remember one thing Aug 16, 2007

Template directories must be separate for both users - with separate Normal.dot for each user, as WF affects the template.

No problem Aug 16, 2007

I have them both in the same directory and I disable Wf-toolbar before I switch to Trados, but I hardly ever use Trados in Word.
Word XP on WinXP.
Cheers
