Bonjour à tous,
Sans beaucoup de moyens financiers, je suis quelqu'un qui essaie de ne compter que sur moi-même.
Ainsi, j'ai appris en faisant des recherches pendant des mois et en veillant des nuits l'existance de "Proz.com" et autres sites spécialisés, les outils d'aide à la traduction...
Etant donné que Trados est horriblement cher et que Wordfast propose une version gratuite: j'utilise, donc, celle-ci.

Autant vous dire que je ne profite que de la ségmentation (qui m'est d'ailleurs d'une aide précieuse) car même si j'ai épluché le manuel d'utilisation disponible sur le site wordfast, je n'ai su appliquer que cela (je suis peut-être plus stupide que les autres, je veux bien l'admettre si c'est le cas).
Les affaires n'allaient pas du tout ces derniers mois jusqu'à ce qu'un client me propose un projet de 6000 mots.
Le souci est que je dois utiliser une mémoire de traduction qu'il m'a fourni.
J'ai fais ce que j'ai pu comme recherches mais en vain.
Pouvez-vous m'indiquer comment cela marche s'il vous plait.

Hi,
Would you please post in English in the future. This will increase your chances of getting a reply.
If you have a demo version (all the other versions are paying), you will not be able to load large translation memories. The demo version limits your TM to 500 TUs.
You should read the manual (French version available). It is a good starting point.

Dear Hind,
All versions now have the same status, so to say. This means that for all of them there is a demo release, which is limited, and a licensed product, without limitations. With Wf, you should always choose the latest version. There is no charge for updating to the newest version. On the other hand, there is no way around paying a license if you want to use large TMs.

When you receive a large assignment to be done with a CAT, it is really worth buying a license.

Si la TM est un fichier TMX, il est possible d'utiliser OmegaT (logiciel libre). Si ce n'est pas le cas, vous pouvez demander à votre client de faire la conversion vers TMX.
