I downloaded Wordfast from the Logos multilingual portal.
Initially it seemed OK until I opened my CV to discover the photo had disappeared.
Then I received an electronic form from an agency and could not complete it since it was kind of frozen.
I tried to remove Wordfast from my PC. Also tried uninstalling MS Office and re-installing it. But the Wordfast is still there.
I have e-mailed them at info@wordfast.org - but am getting a failed e-mail delivery.
I also contacted Logos to see if they could advise me on what to do.
I am at my wits end and would appreciate some help.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Lisa Melvin

Wrong site Feb 7, 2008

Hi Lisa,

You should download Wordfast from www.wordfast.net or www.wordfast.com
The .org site does not have the latest free version on it.

Cheers,

John

Free versions of Wordfast from their sites Feb 7, 2008

Dear John

I thought one had to pay for Wordfast. When you refer to the latest free version, do mean a trial offer or is it free?

Regards

Lisa

Sorry, you're right, "free" is misleading. You can download and use it for free; however each translation memory is limited to 500 TUs unless you purchase a license.

Thanks for pointing that out!
John

Go to Tools > Options menu in Word and make sure "Drawings" is checked on the View tab (if you are using Word 2007, go to Word Options > View). I hope you'll see your photo again.

I have checked "Drawings", as you instructed.
It seems to have rectified the problem.

Remove WF? Feb 12, 2008

The only thing you have to do is to delete or to rename the Wordfast.dot file. Wordfast is a plug-in for MS Office, if you don't use it MS Office will stay the same.
But I wonder why you should remove it? It does no harm and is VERY useful for translating. The only thing you have to do is to tick the Drawings box from time to time and, in some cases, to check the lay-out of your translated file.

Tick Drawing box when using Wordfast Feb 14, 2008

Dear NMR

I have checked/ticked the Drawing box and it seems to be OK now.
It is my first experience of using Wordfast, so I shall no doubt learn about the benefits of using it in the future. I shall take your advice and keep it on my PC.

Regards

Lisa
