document text becomes glossary and can't edit glossary

I am a new Wordfast user. Everything is working fine except for the glossary.
The Wordfast manuals tell me that when I create a glossary I will have the choice of creating a new glossary or using a sample one. But when I choose yes to use the sample glossary or no to create a new glossary when I then open this glossary I find that instead of containing the sample entries the glossary contains the entire text of my document for translation written into the source term column. I am a new Wordfast user. Everything is working fine except for the glossary.
The Wordfast manuals tell me that when I create a glossary I will have the choice of creating a new glossary or using a sample one. But when I choose yes to use the sample glossary or no to create a new glossary when I then open this glossary I find that instead of containing the sample entries the glossary contains the entire text of my document for translation written into the source term column. I had thought this text went into the translation memory not into the glossary? Sometimes Wordfast will allow me to enter terms into this "glossary" and they then appear with the source and target terms in their correct columns but this entry appear in the middle of the document text which is still in the source column!
At other times I find that the sample glossary has been created but Wordfast does not allow me to enter new terms - sometimes it tells me no glossary was selected when I have in fact selected the glossary. Other times it gives me a message: "run-time error 75:Path/file access error".
Am I not saving my files correctly or could this be due to my using MS Office 07 and Vista with Wordfast!
