Born in Germany, but have lived in South Africa most of my life. Am therefore fully bilingual, with both English and German as home languages.
Highest academic qualification: Master of Arts degree (University of South Africa, 1993)
Have worked full-time as a translator since 1986 and as a freelancer since 1988.
Extensive experience in a variety of industrial and business sectors, with particular emphasis on the pharmaceutical and automotive industries and the translation of patents and contracts. Experience in the mining industry and in geology, especially in the language combination French to English. Have translated numerous technical manuals and operating instructions, with special emphasis on the software industry. Have also worked in tourism and nature conservation, general commerce, banking and finance, logistics, manufacturing and telecommunications.
