I am a translator with an extremely strong grounding in both my source languages (French and Mandarin Chinese) and an excellent grammatical and idiomatic level in English, my target language, which is also my mother tongue. I have achieved this as a result of having attended top schools and universities in the UK, France and China, and from having been fully immersed in professional environments in each of these countries.
I have a high educational level in the literary field, having passed the International Option of the French Baccalaureate, an exam which is taken by no more than 500 school leavers in the world each year, and from attaining a Bachelor's degree in Mandarin, Modern and Classical from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
Subsequently, I gained a qualification in English language teaching from the Cambridge Board of Examinations, and have worked as a language teacher in both school and private contexts.
Outside of my literary studies and working in education, I have experience in customer service and sales & marketing, and have studied feminism and social research, so have chosen my fields of specialisation as marketing, literature, journalism, education, sociology and social research.
