In the light of the above, the HSGIC decided that NEPAD should be a Planning and Coordination mechanism facilitating socio-economic plans and projects on the continent. In this regard, the Agency should also be a repository on development projects on the continent where countries and RECs can share information. It should also serve as a repository on information for partner institutions and all concerned with facilitating development processes on the continent. Furthermore, the mechanism could engage in planning, coordination and execution of big continental projects. As part of this process it should interact actively with various stakeholders, provide technical inputs in priority areas of development assigned by the executive organs of the African Union and mobilize resources to promote the developmental objectives of the Union. | Translation - Arabic
في ضوء ما سلف قوله، قررت لجنة التنفيذ لرؤساء الدول والحكومات أن النيباد يجب أن تكون آلية التخطيط والتنسيق التي تقوم بتسهيل الخطط والمشاريع الاقتصادية – الاجتماعية في القارة. وفي هذا الصدد، على الوكالة أن تكون أيضاً بمثابة مستودع لمشاريع التنمية في القارة يمكّن للبلدان والمجموعات الاقتصادية الإقليمية من تبادل المعلومات. وعليها أن تكون أيضاً مستودعاً للمعلومات للمؤسسات الشريكة وكل الأطراف المعنية بتسهيل عمليات التنمية في القارة. وعلاوة على ذلك، يجب أن تشارك الآلية في تخطيط المشاريع الضخمة على مستوى القارة وتنسيقها وتنفيذها. وكجزء من تلك العملية، يجب أن تتواصل إجابياً مع أصحاب المصلحة المختلفين، وعليها أيضاً أن توفر الدواخل الفنية في مجالات التنمية التي تشغل محل الأولوية التابعة للأجهزة التنفيذية للإتحاد الإفريقي وأن تقوم بتعبئة الموارد للنهوض بالأهداف الإنمائية للاتحاد. |
