I have a B.A in Modern Languages and Literatures, with a specialization in English and French (University of Siena) and I have lived in UK for 4 years in order to get a M.A. and a Ph.D in Critical and Cultural Theory (University of Cardiff)
I lecture English Language at the University of Siena, and at the same time I am a freelance translator (and writer)
I love translating, and my experience goes from the creative translation of cartoons, movies,Tv serials, and literary essays, to the more accurate translation of European Patents, user manuals, etc.
My other passion is gastronomy: I write about food, I lecture Gastronomy Culture in a Master for Experts in Food Communication (Univ. of Siena), and I have an excellent knowledge of the lexicon concerning the culinary kingdom.
I have also written 2 books on Shakespeare and numerous essays on English Literature, but these are part of my "academic side".
2 years ago I started a collaboration with the University of Perugia, where I lecture Scientific English Language to the students of the Course in Pharmacy. As a consequence, my knowledge of scientific terms in English is getting more and more refined.
My translations from ENG to ITA:
- essays on English Literature that have been published in academic journals;
- a whole American TV serial (Linc's) and a movie with Eddie Murphy for Italian Television and cinema;
- astrology texts;
- European Patents (telecommunications, Electronics, Medical devices, Chemistry);
- User manuals for microwaves, medical devices, dishwashers, watches
- Birth, marriage and death certificates;
- Conference speeches;
- Psychology questionnaires and surveys;
- Menus for restaurants
- Adverts for an international airline
- Medical surveys
J'aime traduire du français aussi. J'ai traduit:
- cartoons pour la télévision;
- essais en ethnologie et psychanalyse qui ont été publiés dans des journaux academiques
- un site web d'architecture et photographie
- menus pour des restaurants français
- brevets européens (électroniques, pharmaceutiques, télécommunications)
- un très grand site web de tourisme
Absolute guarantee that work will be finished within the agreed deadline.
