As the world’s population grows by 8000 newborns every hour, water and food recourses especially in poor countries are on a continuous decline. One sixth of the world inhabitants suffer from malnourishment (16 millions people under the poverty line live in the USA) 18000 children mostly from developing countries die of famine every single day.
Under such conditions, putting food on the table becomes a necessity that drives the young people from southern countries to go north even under very risky conditions including facing the possibility of loosing their lives on the death boats.
After failing to keep up in the development race, those counties in the southern hemisphere do not only expel their own citizens, they also became a breeding ground for elements that exploit and waste its own wealth. Both internal corruption and foreign dominance orchestrate their efforts for achieving this goal.
The Arabic countries are the best example for such a phenomenon. They could easily triple their current population with better management and distribution of their enormous oil, mineral and agricultural resources, and with acknowledgement of the importance of winning the bid for a true democracy.
As for the countries in the northern hemisphere which have exploited the wealth of the southern countries including their human resources back then when they needed them for laying its urban and demographic foundation, these countries began –after sealing its borders- issuing and implementing of tougher and unfair immigration laws. It is time to get rid of what they consider to be an unneeded population surplus and be selective in choosing needed specialists on which education they didn’t spend a dime.
Consequently, just getting the legal residency in those countries is not enough anymore to avoid humiliation, homelessness and famine in world which is supposed to become a global village in the age of globalization and telecommunication revolution.
