+Education+
-BA in finance, BSc in industrial engineering and computer science
-MA in translation and interpretation with specialization in technical/medical -translation
-Numerous courseworks, workshops, seminars on updating translation, business skills
-I never stop being amazed with engineering/technology field but it's the market (finance) that I'd like to follow closely and pursue deeply. I've actually worked as a stock market analyst who covered a wide range of sectors (retail, technology, pharmaceutical, M&A, banking, emerging markets, hedge funds, hospitality, and real estate), assiting fund managers and institutional investors, and I'm going to continue similar work along with translation, which I found complementing each other nicely. Currently, while working as a full-time translator, I'm studying for CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) exam (Level 2, I passed Level 1 at the year of 2007) and enrolled at University of London as an external student (BSc Economics and Finance) to explore my interest with an academic brush.
-Speaking of academic brush, I'd also love to study literature (English, Russian, Carribean, African, South American, Spanish, German, French..and...) and philosophy at academic level. Maybe all in due time. (And yes, I'm an avid reader who still believes in (or more strongly more than ever) books (esp. classics and literature)).
-As for my love affair with languages, I took up English at 5, French at 7, German at 9. and was properly trained for each working pair (EN>KO, FR>KO, DE>KO) to the extent I could make a decent and fruitful living as a professional translator. I'm also proficient in Japanese (I love it - the joy of reading Murakami Haruki or Yoshimoto Banana!) and I can talk with you in Chinese(Mandarin) for hours, as long as we stick to 'conversational topics'.
-Everytime I encountered the fascinating world where certain languages belong, instant attraction sparked up and quite fortunately, that instant attraction has evolved into ever-lasting, loyal affection. Next destination: Scandinavian or South Asian languages. And Russian.

=Work Experience=+
-Been working with direct clients and agencies from all over this beautiful planet. My forte lies in technical, financial, marketing (including creative copywriting from promotional brochures for a new lipstick to invitation for institutional investors' convention), and legal translation(contract and patent) through which I've built a vast amount of glossaries and localized proabably the most difficult-to-deal-with contents.
++Professionalism++
- I take pride in my work that I always deliver the fully proofread/edited work (I work with a few outside proofreaders/editors for this). I do understand that Korean can be a scary language to many people and I make sure that the client can fully rely on my work.
-I enjoy feeling the pulse of the most up-to-date technologies and issues through my work and there's never an end for learning and improving. I constantly endeavor to update my knowledge and technology skills so that I could keep up with my working fields,which are highly volatile and therefore, fascinating.
-I believe I'm extremely responsive and easy to work with. My number one princeple would be 'cater to the specific needs of the specific clients'.
-Having most of my clients in Europe and North America, my working hours cover Euro-American working hours as well as Asian ones comfortably. So, if you're based in those regions (or anywhere than Korea, which is where I live, for that same matter) and urgently look for a translator in the morning or in the late afternoon even, drop me a line and you'll get a reply (not an automated one!) from me within 30 minutes.
