Die drei mysteriösen Vorfälle in CERN-Teilchenbeschleuniger, in dem Protonen fast lichtschnell mit Antiprotonen kollidieren, betreffen die “schwache Kraft”.
Sie spielt bei einigen Formen des radioaktiven Zerfalls ( „ Beta-Zerfall“) und bei der Kernverschmelzung in der Sonne eine Rolle, genauer gesagt spielen diese Rolle die im Standardmodell vorhergesagten und 1983 in CERN gefundenen Überträgerteilchen der schwachen Kraft, W-Plus, W-Minus und Z-Null genannt.
Das Z-Null wurde nun mehrmals bei einem „ strahlenden Zerfall“ gesehen, wobei ein energiereiches Gammaquant abgestrahlt wurde statt des erwarteten energieschwächeren Röntgenquants. Diese Tatsache lässt sich aber nur verstehen, wenn sowohl Quarks als auch Leptonen selbst noch einmal aus Unterteilchen zusammengestzt sind. Erst diese, oft „Präonen“ genannten Unterquarks und Unterleptonen sollen dann, so lautet das Versprechen, die eigentlichen Fundamentalteilchen der Natur sein. ( Ein Versprechen, das sich durch zweitausend Jahre Wissenschaft zieht!).
Da man auf drei Meßpunkten keine Theorie gründen soll, hat man hier zwar keinen Beweis, aber doch schon einen interessanten vorläufigen Verdacht.
Würde er sich bestätigen, hätte man eine neue Phase der Elementalteilchenphysik vor sich, welche die jetzige, im Jahr 1968 begonnene „ Quarkära“ ablösen würde.
Damals wurden experimentell die ersten Hinweise auf die Quarks im Inneren der Protonen entdeckt. Man hätte jetzt die Chance, eine Reihe fundamentaler Rätsel des ansonsten recht erfolgreichen Standardmodell zu knacken. | Translation - Spanish
Los tres misteriosos sucesos en el acelerador de partículas del CERN, en los que los protones colisionan con antiprotones casi a la velocidad de la luz, conciernen a la "fuerza débil".
Desempeña un papel en algunas formas de desintegración radiactiva (“desintegración beta”) y en la fusión nuclear del sol. Más exactamente, este papel lo desempeñan las partículas portadoras de la fuerza débil, W+, W- y Z0. Estas partículas fueron predichas por el modelo estándar y descubiertas en 1983 en el CERN.
La Z0 fue detectada varias veces en una “desintegración radiactiva” en la que fue emitido un cuanto de rayos gamma de alta energía en lugar del esperado cuanto de rayos X. Este hecho sólo puede entenderse si tanto los quarks como los leptones están a su vez compuestos de subpartículas. Estas subestructuras de los quarks y los leptones, a menudo denominadas “preones”, podrían ser las partículas realmente fundamentales de la naturaleza, o al menos eso prometen. (¡Una promesa que se extiende a lo largo de dos mil años de ciencia!).
Dado que no se puede basar una teoría en tres mediciones, no existe realmente una prueba, aunque sí un indicio provisional interesante.
Si este indicio se confirmara, tendríamos ante nosotros una nueva fase de la física de partículas elementales que reemplazaría a la "Era del Quark", que empezó en el año 1968.
Entonces se descubrieron experimentalmente las primeras señales de la existencia de los quarks en el interior de los protones. Tendríamos la oportunidad de resolver ahora una serie de problemas fundamentales del modelo estándar, por lo demás bastante exitoso. |
