Hai ragione. Explanation: It is rather a familiar way of expressing oneself. Just catch up on the news back home can be also translated by “Vengo avere le ultime notizie di casa”. Buona fortuna. |

qualche suggerimento Explanation: tenersi al corrente - con gli avvenimenti interni / con le questioni interne / con quanto sta succedendo in patria (se nel tuo contesto si parla di politica) informarsi su come stanno andando le cose - se dal resto del testo risulta chiaro che si tratta di avvenimenti "a casa" aggiornarsi sulle ultime novità - da casa/in patria (o eventualmente in ufficio, se si sta parlando di qualcuno che è in viaggio per affari) |
