2 large sweet potatoes
1-2 Tbsp. olive oil or spray
1 tsp. salt
Pepper or other spices are optional
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Cut the sweet potatoes into ½ inch strips or wedges.
Toss with oil and spices to coat.
Place sweet potatoes on a nonstick baking sheet.
Bake 30 minutes, turning halfway through.

10 Ways To Improve Your Child's Health
Below are ten ways to help improve your child’s health and ease your own peace of mind.
1. Limit the amount of time your child spends indoors.
Encourage them to find other ways to spend their free time on a weekly basis. Limit TV or computer time to 2 hour-a-day maximum.
2. Make exercise fun for them.
Trying to get your child to walk or go to the health club is quite different than enrolling them in a karate class or involving them into a little league sport. If your kids are having fun, there’s a great chance they will stick to it!
3. Be a good role model.
It is easy to tell your child but it is much harder to set a good example. However, the fact is most children end up repeating the same general behavior of their most significant role model – which is often a parent. Examine yourself and see if you are encouraging a healthy lifestyle by getting proper exercise and following a good diet. If you are not then make changes in your own life before expecting them in your children.
4. Make sure they get a healthy and diverse diet.
An improper diet is probably the leading cause for childhood obesity. Incorporate natural foods from each of the basic food groups into your family’s diet and encourage healthy portions.
5. Encourage them to drink water as opposed to soft drinks.
Drinking water is more important than most people realize. Your child needs to drink from 4 to 6 glasses of water daily regardless of what else they drink. Make sure they are consuming only moderate amounts of carbonated beverages and fruit juices.
6. Help them to set goals for physical fitness and then help them follow through toward reaching them.
A big factor in any change is the simple practice of setting goals. Help your child establish small goals such as becoming better in soccer or some other activity, and work with them to reach their goals.
7. Watch the amount of food additives they are consuming and encourage them to eat more natural foods.
Check packaging labels carefully at the grocery store, and avoid unnatural additives like artificial colorings and sodium benzoate.
8. Encourage them to be emotionally healthy.
Emotional health is often neglected both by doctors and parents. However, it may be one of the biggest factors in determining the overall experience of life your child will have as an adult. Encourage your children to talk about their emotions and acknowledge their feelings. Encourage them to build healthy relationships by focusing on giving rather than receiving. Make sure they have healthy boundaries and a positive self-image.
9. Show them how to have an empowered and well rounded life.
The key to a happy and healthy life is balance more than anything else. Encourage your child to have a variety of experiences and an open mind. Show them how to broaden their views by reading and experiencing the viewpoint of others. Encourage them to make their own decisions and value judgments rather than accepting that of somebody else including your own.
10. Give them a positive and optimistic outlook.
The biggest asset a parent can give a child is that of a positive outlook and a well balanced personality. People who worry are usually TAUGHT to worry by their parents. People who have anger issues usually learn them from their parents. Make sure that while you are helping your child to have a healthy body that you also make sure that they have a healthy mind to go along with it.
