About me
Recently graduated in Modern Languages, with a specialization (Master’s Degree) in Conference interpreting (simultaneous and consecutive interpretation from English and French into Italian, 109/110), I am concerned about increasing the value of my educational and university background through the improvement of my skills in translating and interpreting.

In writing my thesis I focused on the sign language linguistics (Title of thesis: "The sign language interpreter, cross-cultural mediator") and on the study of the deaf community in Italy and abroad, extending my remarks to the minority communities and to the linguistic rights of persons with disabilities, along the lines of EU legislation with regard to their protection. At the same time I approached the community interpreting , confident that I could combine my qualifications with a helpful service, working as a volunteer with immigrants and people with disabilities, under the supervision of the Italian Red Cross.

During my education and my professional experience in French high schools as Italian Language Assistant and in the A1 Institute in Rome as in-house tutor and translator, I coped with a wide range of subject matters and working settings, I have been interpreting and translating different typologies of texts and speeches ( EU policies reports and conferences, business and financial meetings, literary and legal texts, environmental protection, cross-border cooperation and food security issues ) with a special focus on the textual typologies and discourse strategies and on the analysis of the speaker’s intentions and attitudes. The studies focused on international and national law, with a particular stress on the economic policies and on the protection of the fundamental human rights, have helped create a solid cultural background to support my ideas, as well as an indispensable tool to understand the society’s evolutions in socioeconomic terms.

I have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and French (level C2), acquired during my studies (Erasmus at Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris III-INALCO) and professional experience in France and in The Netherlands, and a good knowledge (both written and oral) of Arabic language too, acquired during the entire university career and study abroad. I have a good knowledge of the MS Office package, Windows OS and CAT tools (Transit).

As for my personal profile, I am an enthusiastic, positive-minded and tenacious person. I’m a fast learner and result-oriented, all that provides me with the will to work hard. Thanks to my experience in volunteering and in high schools, I can say I’m flexible in adapting to new circumstances and able to manage difficult and/or unexpected situations. I am really concerned about practicing in a challenging international and dynamic working environment so as to learn about new relevant tools and working methodologies.
