Source text - English “It rarely happens that designers create absolutely new product typologies – I mean objects that are an invention in themselves, like the MP3 player some years ago. Many product typologies do not change because the human shape and ergonomics remain constant. So it’s not the chair as an archetype for seating that is moving forward. Rather, all the factors around the development and use of chairs are in permanent evolution: new technologies, new materials, space and surroundings, accompanying products and most important, the habits of users. A vital part of the designer’s work, therefore, is the creation of new designs of existing product archetypes. What I am very interested in, however, is the concept of "prediction": when a product is presented to the market it has to be exciting, absolutely new and somehow mind-blowing. As industrial development periods are sometimes 2, 4 or even 6 years (in the case of the automotive industry) – designers must have the ability to forecast advances in technology and the most appropriate responses in form and use of materials. If you want to make a difference you cannot rely on existing trends – you have to make your own mind up about the future.”	Translation - Portuguese «É muito raro que os designers criem tipologias de produtos totalmente novas, ou seja, objectos que sejam, por si próprios, uma invenção; como o leitor de MP3 há alguns anos.
