| Translation - English Daycare for dementia patients: in order to look after patients suffering from dementia, daycare facility staff provide supervision and care. Usually, patients attend the daycare facility for between five and seven hours a day. The care is aimed at tackling specific conditions, including confused behaviour, apraxia, agnosia, memory impairment and others, based on the guidelines for nursing care of dementia patients. Staff (which includes nurses, certified nursing assistants, home helps, specialist dementia carers, etc) undertake training in dementia care. Patients generally travel to the daycare facility from home, but in some cases will come from other institutions. In the majority of daycare facilities, there are two or three staff for every seven to twelve dementia patients.
Daycare focuses on dealing with tangible conditions. Patients spend between five and seven hours a day in rehabilitation and physical training, in an effort to tackle the targeted condition(s). Staff of the facility include nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists and others. It is also usual for assistants to be employed. Such a daycare service may be provided within a hospital, but specialist daycare facilities also exist. The majority of patients travel in from home, but there are also patients who travel from other care facilities.
