Source text - English Dear Readers, At the time this issue of the newsletter comes at your desk I already have stopped as president of CFW. I started to volunteer as treasurer for ICF(M)A in 1998. Two years later, in 2000 in Stockholm, I was elected as president after my predecessor Ian Thompson had finished his term of four years. Ian stimulated me very much to nominate myself. I was not so convinced, because I wanted a dramatic change in the policy of ICF(M)A. First I found it very important to work closely together with IACFA, and second I found it very important to support developing countries directly and systematically in their aim to improve the care for cystic fibrosis. I realized that to reach these aims it would cost a lot of energy, because such a big change in a rather rusty organisation is a big challenge. It was impossible to do this job with volunteer board members who all had a busy job. Jan de Laat, a close friend of mine, has a construction consultancy office called Van Aarle De Laat. He offered me an office, all office facilities and a secretary one day a week. Gina Steenkamer began working for CFW and learning about CF for the first time. After one year, we expended her job to three days a week, and up to now she does a wonderful job. But don’t be mistaken, a secretary does not mean less work. No, it means other, but more work. So I contracted Christine Noke first as webmaster, now she is our Program Director and the webmaster position has been taken over by Diego Verger from Argentina. Ho iniziato a lavorare come tesoriere volontario per l’ICF(M)A nel 1998. Source text - English Inspection can be made in two ways: By means of a special torque brake - either with the transmitter removed from the pipe - or with the transmitter mounted in the pipe, and no pulp in the pipe. The torque brake is an accessory to the consistency transmitter, fitted to the measuring part side of the transmitter. By varying the current to the torque brake, different torques (corresponding to different pulp consistencies) can be used. See separate instructions for the torque brake. The transmitter signal, in this case the feedback signal, can then be adjusted to a certain level corresponding to the applied torque. (200 kpmm torque is to correspond to 100% feedback). Against laboratory samples. The transmitter is then mounted in the pipe and running comparison to lab. samples indicates different sources of error. Originally the transmitter should have been calibrated against a great number of lab. samples and adjusted accordingly. Thus comparison to one lab. sample only implies a source of error. The sample can be extracted from the pipe in a number of ways. Different types of sampling valves, along with common ball valves, result in a different sources of error, some more serious than others, which cannot be discussed here. The key points for a good sampling are generally that the samples are extracted from the pipe in a uniform, repeatable way in accordance with the original calibration. The sample volume must not be too small. At least 0.5 liter / 0.13 US gallon is necessary. Source text - English 2. Question: "In what sense and to what extent is the Bible the inspired Word of God?" Answer: The men who wrote the Bible claimed that their writings were supernaturally inspired by God. The Bible, especially the Old Testament, abounds with statements such as "Thus saith the Lord: . . . .", "The Word of the Lord came unto me, saying . . .", and similar assertions. In the prophetic books (Isaiah, Jeremiah, et al.), statements of this sort occur more than 1,300 times! In the historical books (Samuel, Kings, Chronicles, etc.), there are over 400 such statements. In the Mosaic writings (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy), there are almost 700. Almost half of the entire book of Exodus consists of statements and instructions given as direct quotations from the voice of God Himself! Altogether there are more than 2,600 such direct claims of inspiration found in the Old Testament. The Jewish people at the time of Christ were in full agreement on the divine inspiration of the Old Testament Scriptures, and this was basic in all their thinking. They accepted exactly the same books that we have now in the Old Testament, and no others, as inspired and authoritative. The writers of the New Testament make this fact very clear, quoting directly from the Old Testament more than 320 times and making hundreds of additional allusions to it. There are more than 60 quotations from the book of Genesis alone. Always these quotations are assumed to be of absolute divine authority, settling every question with which they deal.
