About me

Hello

Being aware of the growing need to spread communication and understanding to a wider public, reaching each and everyone, translating from one language to another is becoming one of the keys to a successful international business. Indeed, I am proposing my international experience and acquired linguistic knowledge to work as a freelance translator.

My name is Alexandra Ferreira-Bullock and I am a French and a Portuguese native speaker. I have been working as a freelance translator, in France and Portugal for more than 8 years now. From 2000 to 2003, I worked as an official translator/interpreter and Coordinator for International Relations for the Kagoshima Prefectural Government, in Japan. My experience and responsibilities led me to translate and interpret for the governor, the French and Spanish Embassies. As part of my work I produced and translated newsletters, official letters and documents, official reports and Web pages, in French, Portuguese, English, Spanish and Japanese. In addition, I had the opportunity to interpret for the French soccer team during the World Cup 2002.

I value languages and translating or interpreting is an art through which the professional has to transmit the original message keeping the essence and the meaning intact. The beauty of each language transpires through a precise translation.

The fields of work are International Relations, International/Economic Development, International Law, Medical, Commercial, Advertising, Education, Sociology, History, Subtitling, Telecommunications, Video Games, Literature, Political Science, Resumes, Travel Books, Journalism, human rights issues, Editing, Proofreading.
