We have been asked by a French university with whom we have often worked in the past to translate an entire book on corporate social responsibility.
Nearly all of the work is from English into French. However, 2,933 words need to be translated from Italian into English.

We were unfortunately obliged to accept a low price because of the sheer volume of text to translate, plus the fact that only a very small number of books will be printed (seeing as this is a specialised subject meant solely for researchers). We have all encountered customer budgetary woes and know that, sometimes, it is just not possible to have a translation done for any more money, especially when dealing with a public institution.

We have worked in this field for years, will be doing a sizeable chunk of the translation in-house, and can offer advice with regard to vocabulary. We have a French-English glossary and Déjà Vu translation memory. Therefore, a good command of French would be an advantage.

More importantly, the deadline is not urgent.

We are seeking to work with a native English speaker (others please do not apply) who has some experience in this field, or an associated field, and whose translations have been published.

All translations will be revised, so we count on receiving work that will require only cosmetic changes and is written by people who do not slavishly follow verbose Italian writing styles, and know how to rethink and rewrite as they go along.
