PO, PRN, per day / per hr, PRN
Explanation:
These expressions come from Latin.

per os= denoted "PO" in Medicine, means "per os" or "orally".

per hs= per hour, or hourly

prn= denoted "PRN", means (as Marian indicated) "as needed".

From Latin:

.dies, -ei, m. --- the day, a day

"Die" to mean "day" is very unusual in medical English, although I did find it in a couple of articles (with Italian authors):

Nine patients (7 males, 2 females) with a median age of 55 years (range 41-61) who responded to FAMP (1 had a CR, 5 a nodular partial remission [PRN], and 3 a partial remission [PR]), according to NCI Working Group Criteria, received subcutaneous Campath-1H, three times a week for 6 weeks in escalating doses up to 10 mg. Monoclonal rearrangement of IgH was present in all patients before immunotherapy. Patients received acyclovir and cotrimoxazole as infection prophylaxis. Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), at the dosage of 5-10 microg/kg/**die**, or intermediate-dose.....

One of these is sensorineural hypoacusia, already reported some years ago. In 1987 we documented in our patients a prevalence of 19.4% (7 cases of 36) of sensorineural hypoacusia that proved to be significantly associated with the highest pro kg/**die** doses of DFO. We made a......

This paper highlights the inadequacy of existing research for the purposes of evidence-based **prn (Latin, pro re nata or \'as needed\')** medication practice in psychiatric settings and notes the absence of relevant evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and policies, both nationally and internationally. The professional, ethical and legal importance of **PRN** medication practices is also discussed, and shown to.......

-> You may be right about "hs" - For us docs, "hs" means either "hours", Henoch-Schönlein purpura, heart sounds, or hereditary spherocytosis. Instead of "hs" we write for our nurses "at night"-- (Now, the rest of my answer is correct... why "disagree"?)
