Indonesian term or phrase: belajar mengajar
kegiatan belajar mengajar
Audrey
learning and teaching
Explanation:
I am both a language teacher and a translator/interpreter. In recent years, it has become trendy to get away from using the term 'education' and to replace it with 'teaching and learning' or vice versa. Here in Gladstone QLD Australia the university doesn't have a Bachelor of Education anymore, but instead has a Bachelor of Learning Management degree! Without seeing the words in context, I would say it should be "learning and teaching".

agree  James Pantou: Kamus Pendidikan by St. Vembriarto (Grasindo, 1994) seemed to equate KBM with 'kegiatan akademik' if mentioned in context of university level education. s.v. 'kegiatan belajar-mengajar' (BTW, bukan 'kegiatan belajar mengajar' tanpa tanda hubung)

Explanation:
Kegiatan belajar-mengajar is what goes on in the classroom, so maybe "classroom practice" might fit the bill.
