For example, the cavum septi pellucidi is perhaps better known as the fifth ventricle, and the cavum vergae is called Verga's ventricle, the sixth ventricle, the ventricle of Strambio, ventriculus fornicis, ventriculus triangularis, and the canal aqueduct.. http://content.karger.com/produktedb/produkte.asp?typ=fullte... |

Cavum sept pellucida or Cavum vergae Explanation: Cavum sept pellucida or Cavum vergae serves as a singificant marker of cerebral dysfunction manifested Neurodevelopmental abnormalities while the Cavum Vergae alone does not identify individuals at risks for cognitive delays. It is associated with Neurologic abnormality and diagnosis by MRI. The cava or quarrry greater then 6mn in length could be taken as abnormally large. Higher prevalence of large cavum sept pellucida was revealed in schizophrenics, developmentally delayed populations, and in relatively lower percentage, in brains of aggressive persons and alcoholics. cavity of septum pellucidum (i.e.fifth ventricle) and Verga's ventricle Explanation: The septum pellucidum actually consists of two layers or laminae of both white and gray matter, called the laminae septi pellucidi. These layers are normally fused; however, in approximately one-tenth of humans, there is a slit-like cavity between them, referred to as cavum septum pellucidum, cavum septi pellucidi, or "fifth ventricle" |
