agree  Sergei Tumanov: скважину обычно бурят поглубже чем роют колодец и оттуда может быть вода лучшего качества. Тут на участке и колодец и скважина. Надо покупать и не сомневаться! маленький диаметр скважины allows to use the pump: http://prom.bel.ru/shaht/sh14.html

Explanation:
The difference is that скважина means there is a hole in the ground that brings water into колодец.Kолодец can be without скважина, and that would mean that the owner will have to buy water in bulk and put into колодец for future use. Having колодец co скважинou is what you want to have!
