It's really the reduction bit that's causing me problems - a translation of "action en revendication" as "action to establish ownership" makes sense here but "reduction"?

agree  Patch44 (X): I found this definition of 'action en réduction' - Action de réduire le montant des libéralités du défunt afin de protéger les droits des héritiers réservataires.' This would seem to cover it.
