Explanation: In these circumstances, I think a rewriting is going to be necessary, and my suggested solution would be: "You are hereby charged as follows:..."; there would presumably follow a summary of the offence, and the facts of the case. The problem as I see it (although I don't know if you're translating an official fill-in form or other official document) has much to do with the form's heading - the "Strafbefehl". As far as I know, and Collins confirms this, that is a "Summary judgement", which is a sort of odd form to use in this way, unless it goes on to state that the accused, having been found guilty, etc.... |
