shadow joint Explanation: "Fuge" generally means "joint". See the following for example: "IV. RHEINZINK-massiv (solid) wall cladding technology tongue and groove panel for wall cladding "pre-weathered" SF - corner profile, exterior corner, tongue/groove, peel-off lamination*, RHEINZINK system, 0 - 30 mm shadow joint" -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2002-07-25 10:53:24 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Here\'s another site with the phrase: \"The Gasell Series P sandwich panel is so versatile it is possible to fabricate geometrical shapes of curves, shadow joints, turned down edges, angular section, flat surfaces and with a superb choice of colours, allowing designers even greater creativity to their design concepts. All this, combined with the unique shapes formed on the pre-coated external steel face gives that extra dimension aand low maintenance over the life of the building.\" http://www.gasell.co.uk/products/composites/sandwich_panel_p... shadow gap Explanation: This is definitely the correct term, as the "Fuge" refers to an intentional gap between constructional elements. Referring to an English google hit that comes from a German site should generally be treated with great caution. "shadow joint" returns ony two hits in the right context, both of which are from German sites. "shadow gap" is more successful. |
