This is a care assessment order from social services and talks about someone with Willi Prader syndrome who as a result is impeded in their 'sociale redzaamheid' - anyone know what this is?

Thanks all so much for the quick and very helpful response. I liked social interaction as well but since this is exactly what the next part of the sentence says (!) I think life skills fits perfectly.

Sociale redzaamheid

agree  jarry (X): Nice reference. I see that "zelfredzaamheid" also translates as self-reliance/life skills

neutral  Peter van der Hoek: I don't think it fits the translation as it would be seen as "zelfvoorziening". Lacking social and life skills does not necessarily make you less self reliant.

ability to cope

Explanation:
ability to live / do things independently, ability to cope / manage (for oneself))

normaal gezien is het zelfredzaamheid, en dit staat ook in het woordenboek, dus sociale redzaamheid is dan the ability to cope with things socially of zo, beter in de context te plaatsen door uzelf
