deslizante
Explanation:

glidant

A tablet or capsule excipient used to reduce interparticulate friction, thereby improving particle flow.

1. A tablet is a combination of ingredients that is compressed into a solid mass. The basic components of an immediate release pharmaceutical tablet are:
active drug substance
diluent or filler (see compression aids)
binder
disintegrant
lubricant

Optional excipients include:

glidant
anti-adherent
anti-static agent
colorant
flavor
sweetener
surfactant (wetting agent)
anti-oxidant
film-coating

2. Types of Tablets:

Tablets have the ability to be produced with many different properties including immediate, delayed or sustained release of active drug substance. They can be single or multiple compression (double or triple layered, tablet within a tablet). They can also be coated with an active drug substance, film or sugar coating.

Our proprietary Controlled Structure Technology (CST) gives us unique capabilities to provide a broad range of products, thereby providing the best match for your tableting formulation.

Having many options from fine to ultra fine particles optimizes our ability to coat the surfaces of your product. Performance is further enhanced as additional glidant particles fill the voids between substrate particles. This coating-and-filling action separates the substrate particles in a ball bearing like fashion, promoting flow and preventing caking.

Moreover, Zeopharm® glidant products absorb moisture to a much greater degree than other materials, yet remain free-flowing powders. Very few other glidants can function so effectively as both parting agents and moisture barriers.

Cassava starch was evaluated for its possible inclusion in the group of the glidants applicable for improving the flow of granular systems. It was incorporated in the concentrations of up to 3% by mass into lactose granulations, and its effect on the flow of the granulations was compared with those of corn starch, talc and magnesium stearate. Results indicate that cassava starch, being positively comparable with standard glidants, may well serve as an alternative glidant for pharmaceutical granulations.

Pharmaceutical - USP grade talc is used as an inert filler in tablets and as a lubricant / glidant in tablet coatings. Pharmaceutical grade talcs are also widely used in medicated foot powders, creams, lotions, ointments and as a release agent in tablet molds.

Product 197 grade talc is BC and complies with USP, EP and JP specifications. It is used as an excipient for use in pharmaceutical applications and as a glidant, lubricant and diluent. Total aerobic plate count (including yeast and mold) less than 50 cfu/gram. Absence of gram negative pathogens.

3.1.- COMPOSICIÓN DE LAS ESPECIALIDADES FARMACÉUTICAS. (1,2)
