While this could be an option, I do believe that on-the-job training is commonly the kind of thing that you do WITHOUT any educational support, i.e. you are learning as you go. Indeed, it is often quite a shock when all you get is on-the-job training. :)
I also considered work-study as a translation, but that (in the US) usually refers to a type of government aid where your employer gets to hire the student at a discount, and the student gets tuition credit or money to help fund his/her studies.
In this case, it seems we are talking about professional training with a work component, like for instance what tends to happen to nurses, who are recruited to work while still in school, or like Union carpenters, who go through their apprenticeship working 4 days a week, and going to school 1-1 1/2 days a week... |
