Explanation:
Más que "mono- and bi-salts", creo que puede referirse a "mono- and di-salts".

Quizás con todo el contexto que tienes puedas confirmarlo o descartarlo. Lo que me ha confundido es que "bisalt" parece ser una forma de llamar a las sales ácidas ("acid salts"):

Sin embargo de esta manera no encuentro el sentido de hablar de "mono- and bi-salts", sino de "neutral and bisalts". Además ese guión de "bi-", me hace pensar que se trate de "disalts".

Por tanto, me decanto sin espanto por mono- y di-.
