this is the context: 'Instead of investing the total finance needed in a pure equity investment, the investor can divide the funds in a part equity and part loan, and can add a percentage of the sales to this, ensuring a fixed return. Next to a small part of the money being lent in equity, the investor lends the rest in debt, just like a regular loan. '

Having very little knowledge in this field, I am rather at a loss to understand (or translate this sentence)
