I seem to have caught a grayling. They're found all over Asia and Europe and can grow to two feet long. That's the sort of trademark; sail-like dorsal fin. Very pretty fish. Quite stripy flanks. Relative of the trout.

Peixe da família dos salmonídeos cuja principal área de distribuição se situa no centro e norte da Europa, sendo igualmente criado em aquicultura. Trata-se de uma espécie protegida pela Convenção relativa à Conservação da Vida Selvagem e do Meio Natural da Europa (Berna, 1979).

Esta espécie é designada umas vezes por "umbla" e outras vezes por "peixe-sombra" na legislação comunitária (vide, em particular, a Directiva 78/659/CEE do Conselho, relativa à qualidade das águas doces que necessitam de ser protegidas ou melhoradas a fim de estarem aptas para a vida dos peixes ("umbla") e a Directiva 93/54/CEE do Conselho que altera a Directiva 91/67/CEE relativa às condições de polícia sanitária que regem a introdução no mercado de animais e produtos da aquicultura ("peixe-sombra").
