The following is from a report of clinical case studies where 3D imaging is recommended. I am not familiar with the precise terminology. Any help appreciated.

"A l’examen panoramique, il semble que la hauteur d’os résiduel semble suffisante pour envisager un traitement implantaire simple. Par contre la présence d’un important résidu de pâte canalaire dentaire entouré d’un halo radio-clair dans le site d’extraction de la 14 nous fait préconiser la prescription d’une exploration 3D."
